Disneyland’s New $15,000 Dining Experience Is Worth Every Penny

When it comes to putting on a show of luxury and extravagance, nobody knows how to pull out the bells and whistles like Disney does.

So when Disneyland launches a new fine dining experience that’s worth $15,000, you know it’s gonna be worth every last penny.

This new experience begins with you and up to 11 companions checking in at the Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim. From there, you’re given a VIP escort to 21 Royal, a luxury apartment designed as a private residence for Walt and his wife Lilian Disney shortly before Walt passed away. The entire experience has been recreated in Disneyland — right above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in New Orleans Square.

From there, the entire dinner party experience gets full-on fancy. It begins with a cocktail reception in the patio and salon, featuring signature cocktails from Disneyland. You’ll also get to explore the private residence at this time, where the 21 Royal website hints at “magical features” being present in several of the rooms.

Afterwards, you’re treated to an elegant 7-course meal specifically customized to your experience. When you make reservations, you’re asked to choose a specific theme for the night. The team of world-class chefs and an expert sommelier then source the highest quality ingredients from sustainable sources both locally and internationally. The result is a meal that’s specifically customized to your night, thus making every 21 Royal experience truly unique.

The night ends with dessert on a private balcony overlooking the park, giving you prime views of the Rivers of America section of the park below and of the fireworks shows that typically go on at Disneyland.

The total price tag of $15,000 seems steep at first, but think of everything that it covers: parking, tip, tax, and valet service from the Grand Californian, park admission to Disneyland, cocktails, a seven-course meal, dessert, and an evening in one of the most luxurious apartments you’ve ever stepped into. That’s definitely worth the price tag, which comes out to about $1,250 per person if your party is the maximum number of 12.

Reservations are only available through the phone line at the 21 Royal Concierge [(714)-300-7749]. Despite the hefty cost, I’d expect a once-in-a-lifetime experience like this to be wildly popular, especially amongst hardcore Disney fans.
