Dude Tried To Buy A $60K BMW With Food Stamps, Ended Up Just Stealing It

Food stamps are pretty flexible, and you can use the assistance program to buy a lot of things, but apparently a brand new BMW isn’t one of them.

A Florida resident tried using his Electronic Benefits Transfers card to help purchase a $60,000 Bimmer, according to FOX 5. When the Pompano Beach dealer refused to hook him up with the BMW x6, 36-year-old Nicholas Jackson put his food stamps away, snuck into the dealership the next night and just stole the car.

Apparently you can’t use your  EBT card to buy gas, either, because Jackson got caught when his brand new ride ran out of fuel and his joyride came to a stop.

Jackson was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, and is being held on $20,000 bond.

No word if he’s going to try to make bail with his EBT card.
