12 Eye-Opening Facts About S’mores

S’mores — a traditional nighttime campfire treat popularized through the US and Canada. Right? Right. In its purest form, it consists of roasted marshmallow, a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. Annually, National S’mores Day is celebrated on August 10th (wuddup!).

All year, Foodbeast.com is a fun-house of s’mores related content. S’mores Fries, Pop Tart Cookie Dough S’mores, and even S’morenuts, glazed donut s’mores.

But thanks to Honey Maid, those dudes with some of the most recognizable graham crackers in the game, as well as a survey they conducted in July 2015 surveying a sample of 2,000 respondents, we now may or may not have a proper sample size to call these conclusive facts about S’mores. Either way, they conjured up some interesting findings.

For example, 31% of Americans make s’mores on a grill.

87% of Americans have tried a s’more.

31% of Americans have only had a s’more cooked over campfire, and 41% of people in metro cities haven’t even tasted a s’more before!
