Man Asks Cop for a Ride to Burger King, Cop Finds Pot in His Pockets

A 27-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana early Sunday morning. While that’s not entirely uncommon, what does stand out is the fact that he went out of his way to ask the officer who arrested him for a ride to Burger King before the pot was discovered.

The New Jersey Advance reports that Richard Vanhouten Jr. was involved in an argument with a cab driver. Things got a bit heated, and the police were called to mediate the situation. Once the dust settled, Vanhouten asked the officer for a ride to Burger King.

Apparently, the ordeal left him famished.

The officer agreed to give Vanhouten a lift, however, because of procedure, he had to undergo a pat-down before entering the patrol car. During the pat-down, the officer allegedly found marijuana in Vanhouten’s pockets. He was promptly arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

We’re assuming he didn’t make it to Burger King.
