Recyclable Leather Bag

Ready to hit your grocery stores in a fashion original recycling-advocates would have never envisioned? These bags were released as part of jewelry brand Cast of Vice‘s Collection No. 4 series meant to turn heads and raise eyebrows. The bags comes in four different varieties, encompassing all the aspects of generic consumer graphics we’d come to expect: Have a Nice Day, thank You, I HEART NY and Recycle patterns.

All graphics are hand embossed on the sewn bag made from super-smooth, high-grade lambskin. All work on their product is done in Los Angeles, CA with each of the four designs coming in both small and large versions. The small version measures 8.5″ wide by 17.5″ tall, with the larger version measuring 12″ wide by 21.5″ tall.

According to the product’s description, “the design of each ‘shopping’ bag is a direct reflection of the original, disposable object it’s based on-but realized at the extreme opposite in terms of materials and manufacturing.” If I wasn’t so uncomfortable with myself, I probably would pick up a bag or two for my next organic grocery shopping trip.
