Pastor Creates a Website to Guilt Trip Churchgoers into Tipping More

Sundays Worst

Tennessee pastor Chad Roberts created a website aimed specifically at guilting his churchgoers into not only tipping better, but also leaving their servers with a better sense of appreciation.

The site Sundays Are the Worst went live last month and has been flooded with personal experiences since. Servers from around the area can submit their personal stories of getting stiffed by Sunday church attendees or even just a bad experience they had with someone from Roberts’ church.

Once the stories are posted, Roberts makes an effort to issue a personal apology from the church. The pastor told Kingsport Times News that the website will “wrap up” Easter Sunday when his congregation will all dine out after service. On that day, they are encouraged to double their tip and let servers know that they’re appreciated. While the site will pick up again next year, Robert hopes Sundays Are the Worst will change the stereotype of church attendees under-tipping.
