Big Gay Ice Cream Coming to Los Angeles in Spring 2014
New York based Big Gay Ice Cream is making it’s LA debut as early as this Spring. A popular ice cream parlor on the east coast, Big Gay Ice Cream will be moving into Downtown Los Angeles near the Ace Hotel.
After successfully testing two pop-up trucks in LA last summer, the shop’s west coast move will also bring a full time Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. Co-founder Douglas Quint says, “I love doing the ice cream truck most of all and it’s a much easier scene in southern California than in New York.”
Known for it’s unique menu, Big Gay Ice Cream will also bring their signature classics such as the Salty Pimp to their new shop along with some new LA themed creations. Quint doesn’t have anything specific in mind yet but does hope to incorporate LA’s love of fresh produce into some of his frozen treats.
In its humble beginnings the ice cream shop started as a truck roving the streets of NYC eventually finding sweet success with two storefronts.
