Check Out What 2,000 Calories Of Your Favorite Food Looks Like

We grew up learning that eating 2,000 calories a day was the standard, and while that number really changes from person-to-person, it’s still a nice round number to refer to. The FDA came up with that number, and if you’ve ever had a burger combo, anywhere, you know how easy it is to rack up those calories.

Business Insider had a little fun with some of our favorite foods and provided a visual of what those 2,000 calories actually look like. Sure, no one is going to eat these insane amounts of food, (Except maybe the Whoppers. Don’t judge me) but it’s cool to see what that 2,000-calorie recommendation looks like for each item.

Take a look below:

__________

Burgers

whopper-2000

The standard Whopper is about 630 calories, each. If you add cheese, it goes up to 710 calories. Hell, get a double Whopper and it’s 850 calories. Three Whoppers would get you well above your 2,000 calories.

__________

Fries

An order of large fries at McDonald’s can surpass 500 calories, so 4 of these orders would round out your 2,000 calories.

__________

Pizza

Oh, pizza. My first love. I thought it would take a lot less, but it would take 7 slices of a large Domino’s pizza to get through the 2,000-calorie threshold. I could easily blow through four slices in one sitting, so those extra couple I get later in the day, pretty much fill up that 2,000 mark.

__________

Soda

coke-2000

A can of Coke has 120 calories. Thankfully, most people don’t chug 14 cans a day, but if you ever did, that’s what 2,000 calories of liquid cocaine look like.
__________

Reese’s Peanutbutter Cups

reeses-2000

Each delicious little cup has 110 calories, and if you ever go off the rails and eat 18 of them, stop there, cause you don’t want to breach that 2,000 mark.

__________

Apples

Finally, a healthy look at 2,000 calories. Apples have about 126 calories, so if you spend your day juicing your apples, 16 of them would let you hit the 2,000-calorie limit.
