Viral Video Shows Cheese Stretch Nearly 20 Feet

In a viral video that’s been viewed nearly two million times as of this writing, we’re treated to what looks like a cheese pull competition of epic proportions.

The clip above is from Jeune Montagne, an agricultural cooperative in France, which specializes in the French dish aligot, a divine potato, garlic and cheese mash that is legendary for its stretchiness. One cheese pull from a bowl of aligot would make Mister Fantastic hang his head in defeat. Trust me, I’ve seen aligot’s undeniable stretch firsthand.

Here we see aligot rise to the occasion, reaching a height of what looks to be six meters or nearly 20 feet. It’s an impressive, cheesy stretch indeed, one that would impress any Cirque du Soleil recruiter.
