In a shocking turn of events, actor and comedian Kevin Hart shut down all four locations of his plant-based fast food chain Hart House. It was launched in 2022 with the goal of promoting a plant-based lifestyle, which Hart had mostly adopted in 2020. Hart House CEO Andy Hooper confirmed the news in a written statement to Eater:

“The response to the product has been incredible, and we thank our committed team, our customers, and our community partners for helping make the change we all craved, and for the unwavering support of Hart House”

Hart and Hooper started working together on Hart House in 2020. The first location opened in Westchester near Los Angeles International Airport in August 2022. Subsequent locations opened later in November, then in May, and another in June 2023. As of now, there has been no official announcement from Hart or Hooper about why the locations were suddenly closed.
