A Rubik’s Cube Fruit Salad, Chanel Carrot Lipstick & More Surreal Food Art

You know, when you think about it, a banana does sort of look like a narrow, yellow Converse shoe. I mean, you have to think hard. Use your imagination. I’m doing you a favor here.

You know who has thought about it? Designer Sarah Illenberger, who recently created the photoseries Strange Fruits. She takes fruits (and vegetables) and crafts them into totally normal weird things, like Chanel carrot lipstick and pear balloons and beet jewels.

It’s kind of like when your mom sculpted your peas into a smiley face to trick you into eating healthy. Except maybe this will actually work. Maybe.
