Burger King Just Gave The Whopper Its First Update In Nearly 10 Years

When it comes to improving the customer experience, actually listening to their feedback usually works.

Following Burger King’s recent decision to plaster President Tom Curtis’s number all over the internet—which apparently, has already helped to improve operations, restaurant image, and BK’s overall experience—the company has listened to customers yet again and announced a premium upgrade to its iconic Whopper sandwich.

“Over the past several years, we’ve focused on strengthening our operations and modernizing our restaurants to build a more consistent foundation across the system,” said Tom Curtis, President of Burger King U.S. & Canada. “With that work well underway, we’re now in a position to thoughtfully elevate our core menu. The Whopper is an icon, so we didn’t set out to reinvent it. Instead, we elevated it based on direct Guest feedback.”

For the record, the flame-grilled Whopper hasn’t changed in nearly 10 years. And time will tell whether customers like the burger’s new digs. Here’s what you’ll be biting into next time you order one:

  • An elevated, premium bun
  • Mayonnaise with an improved taste
  • And a box to secure the goods

It’ll retain the freshly cut onions and tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and pickles that you’ve come to love. More than anything, refinement was the goal, and if Burger King delivers on its promise, a higher-quality experience awaits.
