Gobble: The Online Marketplace For Home Cooked Meals

Gobble is an online marketplace for fresh, home-cooked mails from local chefs. Currently in an alpha mode serving only the Bay Area (the company is Palo Alto, CA-based), the system allows local chefs to build a personal online storefront and offer their meals to nearby families and companies.

The service seems to pride itself on quality, healthy and fresh meals. Why should you think about using it? If you miss your family’s home-cooking, you are now a few clicks away from meals prepared by chefs who specialize in particular cuisines.

Your meals get made to order, and can either be delivered to your doorstep or at two pick-up locations across Palo Alto and San Francisco. According to TechCrunch’s database, we know that Gobble received $1.2 million in Unattributed funding back in May of this year.

If you’re in the Bay area, have you used Gobble, or do you plan on using it? If you’re outside of the preliminary area, would you hope for Gobble to become a reality in your city?
