Taco Bell Releases New Apple-Flavored Soda and Mtn Dew Sangrita

Before you get your hopes up, there is zero booze in the new Mtn Dew Sangrita Blast at Taco Bell. I know, trickery, but so is life.

Looking to enter 2014 with an entourage of new fountain drinks, a total of six beverages will be introduced at select Taco Bell locations starting today. In addition to the citrus-flavored Sangrita Blast, the carbonated drinks include apple-flavored Manzanita Sol, Brisk Mango Fiesta, Brisk Iced Tea and Lemonade, SoBe Lifewater Yumberry Pomegranate and Diet Mtn Dew Baja Blast.

Each drink will run anywhere from $1.39  for a 16 oz to $1.79 for a 40 oz. Of course, the fun here really happens when you start mixing all the flavors together. Sangrita with some Mango? Don’t mind if I do…

Taco Bell is now OFFICIALLY dumb.

Anyone who knows Espanol and knows Mexican food knows that “SANGRITA” is a chile based spicy non alcoholic Tequila chaser.

Except Taco Bell is about as inauthentic as can be? And they haven’t tried to claim otherwise since at least the 90s?

And the employee training videos only go so far as to say it is “Mexican Inspired”, dood.

Yes, Manzanita Sol isn’t exactly “new,” but kudos to Taco Bell for picking it up; Pepsi’s competitor in the market IMHO is the best apple soda in Mexico
