Here's something social media geeks can totally get behind. Imagine you're at a Starbucks, editing photos, writing blog posts, pretending to do all that while infinite scrolling on 9GAG or Tumblr, when in walks -- no, couldn't be -- yes, it totally is! -- your favorite photographer/writer/filmmaker/aspiring actor you always vaguely knew lived in your area, but never imagined you could actually meet in person! But wait, you don't want to seem like just another random fanboy. Quick, tweet them a $5 gift card along with a slick message letting them know you're there, you're a huge fan, and you're totally not a stalker.

Lifelong fantasies aside, Starbucks has just rolled out a new way to let customers send each other $5 e-gift cards over Twitter. It's called "Tweet-A-Coffee," and to get generous, all you need to do is sync your Starbucks and Twitter accounts, tweet "@tweetacoffee" TO the "@twitterhandle" of your lucky gift recipient, and wait for him or her to receive your little act of kindness on his or her smartphone.
