Bugles Marshmallow Treats

I love Target. I do. But then there are times when I shake my fists at it, too, because (as I hear is the way for most people) Target always offers me things to buy that I hadn't planned on buying. So I buy them. And I really only shop in the grocery section! BUT then those purchases that I never planned on purchasing allow me to make tasty things like Bugles Marshmallow Treats. So I think my love for Target outweighs me wanting to give it the side eye.

Ingredients

  • 6c Bugles, crushed (not pulverized, but not whole—medium to big pieces will do)
  • 4c mini marshmallows
  • 1-2T butter (your preference on how buttery you want it to taste)

Directions

  1. Grease a 9x13 pan with shortening.
  2. Crush and measure out Bugles into a large bowl. (I made the mistake of crushing them after I measured, so I didn't get as much Bugle in there as possible. Definitely crush them first.)
  3. Melt butter and mallows on stove in the big pot you own.
  4. Stir crushed Bugles into melted mallow until evenly distributed.
  5. Smash into prepared pan; let cool.
  6. Remove from pan and cut into whatever size pieces your heart desires. (There is also the option of leaving it a big hunk of sticky Bugle mess and just pulling pieces from it like monkey bread. In fact, I encourage you to try that.)

While I could just eat an entire bag of Bugles on its own (Have I mentioned I <3 <3 <3 salt?), these were pretty fantastic!

If you are planning a trip to Target today for that one thing you need, while you are adding all those things you don't need to the cart, why not throw in a couple bags of Bugles and a thing of marshmallows and make some Bugles Marshmallow Treats as a reward for getting out of there without spending more than $50. Eh, better make it $100.
